"He was a towering figure not only for the Communist Party of India but also for other Left parties. We all will miss his guidance," CPI state unit secretary C P Mehta said.
"He used to come to Jharkhand as he was attached to the state. His last visit to Ranchi was in the early part of 2015. Our real homage to this great leader will be to keep following the path he charted out for us," Mehta said.
Another senior CPI leader Khagendra Thakur said Bardhan's seniority was not by his age, but by having immense knowledge that profited the Left Front.
Bardhan passed away at a hospital in Delhi yesterday.
