In a statement, CPI(M) Palakkad district secretary C K Rajendran wanted the Left-led state government to take action against Bhagwat and the school management.
He said unfurling the tricolour at a government aided school was against the district administration order.
As per the order, only elected representatives, school authorities or government officials could unfurl the tricolour at government-aided institutions, Rajendran said.
Palakkad District Collector P Marykutty had issued an order on August 14 stating that since the Karnagi Amman School was government-aided, only elected representatives or school authorities could hoist the flag.
CPI-M district committee also wanted the Pinarayi Vijayan government to take strict action against the school management for inviting the RSS chief.
Rajendran alleged that it was a "deliberate attempt" of the RSS-BJP to create tension in the state with the help of the Centre.
