CPI-M today asked its cadres to brave "attacks" by the ruling Trinamool Congress and put up a united fight for the panchayat elections in West Bengal.
"Party workers should be prepared to face the panchayat elections braving attacks and intimidations by ruling Trinamool Congress," party state secretary Biman Bose said after a state committee meeting.
It discussed the "panic" created by the state government by allegedly encouraging the Trinamool Congress to obstruct opposition candidates from filing nominations for the first phase of the panchayat polls.
The meeting was told that miscreants were assembling at BDO offices to attack Left candidates filing nominations, while the police remained silent spectators.
Bose said Left Front partners should resolve all differences and put up a united fight.
