"We congratulated Patnaik for saving his government. The CPI(M) supports a BJD government as we do not want either a Congress or a BJP government in the state," CPI(M) state secretary Janardan Pati said after meeting the chief minister last night.
The party also highlighted the plight of people due to unprecedented heatwave conditions and demanded drinking water facility for all villages in the state, Pati said.
CPI, Forward Bloc and two other small parties have also sought appointment with the chief minister to express solidarity.
"We have been providing issue based support to the BJD government and will continue to do so," CPI state secretary Dibakar Nayak said.
