CPI(M) today demanded that the Hemant Soren government in Jharkhand should crack down on alleged hoarders of onion so that people could get relief from exorbitant price.
"We demand Jharkhand government cracks down on hoarders and releases onions in the state," CPI(M) Jharkhand unit Secretary G K Bakshi said here.
"We have learnt that hoarding and stocking the vegetable has led to its steep price rise," he said.
Asked whether he wanted onions to be supplied from fair shops till prices came down, he shot back, "let aside onions, the people in Jharkhand don't even get rice and wheat at ration shops.
