CPI(M) leader was found hanging from a tree at Kanonia village in West Midnapore district today.
Police said the body of Durjodhan Samanta, Secretary of party's Palongpur branch, was found hanging from a treee after he went missing since this morning.
It was not clear if Samanta was murdered or had commited suicide, but inquiry was on.
