"We will launch active resistance against Trinamool Congress and the chit fund companies in order to highlight the nexus between the two," party Central Committee member Goutam Deb told newspersons at Barasat district party office here.
"Chit fund companies have flourished under this regime and public money has been misused by these," he claimed.
"As a responsible opposition, we had given the Trinamool Congress time to work and see what it does for public good, but now we will take to the streets to protest against its misrule and conduct," he said.
Talking about BJP's prospects at Basirhat South Assembly constituency bye-election in North 24-Parganas district, of which he is the party district president, Deb said "though they had garnered a percentage of votes in the Lok Sabha elections from here, it will be a different ball game in the Assembly polls."
Bye-elections are scheduled on September 13 at Basirhat South and Chowringhee Assembly seats.
