"We will try that people don't get to see separate symbols of the respective parties in same seats. We are walking a path which has not been traveled before. We want to oust this undemocratic TMC regime and are ready to do whatever it takes to achieve that goal," CPI-M politburo member Mohammed Salim said.
Salim, however, dodged a direct reply to a question on whether both the Congress and the CPI-M would come together to campaign in the upcoming Assembly polls.
"Things are slowly unfolding, so please wait for some more time," Salim said when asked about the final outcome of the alliance.
The Congress yesterday announced the names of 75 constituencies from which it will fight as per an initial seat-sharing arrangement with the Left Front.
"Earlier, whenever she was under pressure she visited Darjeeling. Now that option is not there. So she has started from north Bengal as she is under tremendous presure. But she will not be able to reap any benefits there," Salim said.
