CPI(M) -- part of People's Welfare Alliance (PWA) formed by Left parties along with MDMK and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi -- targeted ruling AIADMK also for allegedly cosying up to BJP, which it said, promotes "harmful economics and toxic social policies and politics".
"Both (DMK and AIADMK) have turned corruption into a fine art, they pursue the same economic policies. Now the ruling party in the state is cosying up to BJP at the Centre, which is about harmful economics and toxic social policies and politics," CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury said in a Facebook post.
"Alternative politics is a must to save India and build a better tomorrow," he said.
The Rajya Sabha MP also shared pictures of a rally he addressed in Madurai yesterday along with other PWA leaders, including CPI's S Sudhakar Reddy and D Raja and MDMK chief Vaiko.
Tamil Nadu is expected to go to polls in April/May this year.
