"Such report from a retired Judge cannot be accepted," Salim said in his reaction to the report of the one-man Commission of Justice (retd) Sushanta Chatterjee.
"There could be a discussion on whether the firing was done willingly or unwillingly, but comparing the incident with the Jalianwallah Bagh massacre has made it a political leaflet," the Left leader said.
"Comparing this firing with the Jalianwallah Bagh massacre, which is a very important chapter in our freedom struggle, clearly shows the political motive in it," Salim said.
Salim further alleged that the Trinamool Congress government under Mamata Banerjee had formed several commissions to help spread her political agenda.

During its 34-year regime, Salim claimed the Left Front government had followed the principle of allowing public demonstrations without any hindrance from police force.
"In the entire 34 years of our rule we had always followed the principle of not allowing any form of police atrocities on public demonstrations," he said.
Stating that "firing is not at all good and it would have been good if there was no firing on that day also," the CPI(M) MP said there could be a debate on the role of the administration as well as the police.
