"There is a lack of industrialisation in West Bengal and TMC government has done nothing for the sake of it. They have ruined Bengal. In the last four and half years more than 38000 small and medium scale industries have closed down (in the state)," the Leader of Opposition said during a rally here.
CPI(M)-led Left Front kicked off a week-long procession from Singur to Salboni with a demand of industrialisation in the state and jobs for the unemployed youth.
"At Singur we had tried to set up an industry but due to TMC it was moved out of Bengal to Gujarat," Mishra said.
Mishra also mocked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's foreign trips to Singapore and London to attract investments.

"It seems she is in a competition with our Prime Minister who frequently visits foreign countries. But her foreign visits have failed to attract investments. She doesn't need to go to foreign countries anymore," Mishra said.
"Even in areas where we don't have votes, you have to create organisation in order to ensure that each and every voter is able to caste his/her vote irrespective of fear and intimidation," he said.
