"Those who are crying foul over violence and malpractices in polls should remember how TMC had by a huge margin won both Lok Sabha polls last year and Assembly bypolls a few months back, which were held under the supervision of central forces," Abhishek Banerjee, TMC leader and nephew of party supremo Mamata Banerjee, told a rally here.
The ruling party alleged that the violence in the just- concluded municipal polls was due to a conspiracy hatched by opposition parties.
"CPI(M) has been rejected by the masses time and again. But they are still to learn their lesson and that is why, just ahead of next year's Assembly polls, they are trying to create disturbance in the state.
"It is our duty to unmask them and expose them before the people," Abhishek said.
