"The hallmark of a revolutionary party is not mere presence within the Parliament or the state legislatures; rather, it is in the assertion of people's voices and their struggles," national General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said while addressing 9th Congress of the party.
A release quoting him said that at a time when the Left parties had faced electoral setbacks, it was the CPI (ML-Liberation) which took the challenge with commitment by intensifying struggles and asserting the left presence when the country faced "neo-liberal assaults".
Later addressing the press, party's Central Committee member Dhirendra Jha said the CPI-ML-Liberation would prefer carrying forward the struggle for people than sharing power with any other party just for the sake of remaining in power.
"There are two lines in the Left; sharing power with other parties to rule and the other is to struggle on the people's issues to achieve longer goals. And we are in favour of the latter," Jha said.
