CPI national secretary D Raja said Rahul Gandhi is following on the lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by "turning to rhetoric" to attack other parties and alleged it was Congress' policies which allowed BJP to come to power at the Centre.
"He is the vice president of Indian National Congress, one of the oldest parties in the country. When he makes comment on Left, he must be very sober. How can you say Left has become obsolete? What about Congress? Does he understand what he means by what he said?" CPI national secretary D Raja asked.
"If Modi resorts to rhetoric in attacking other parties, Rahul Gandhi is also resorting to rhetoric. The Congress should introspect why people rejected it," he added.
Addressing Congress workers at the conclusion of "Jana Raksha Yatra" in Kerala yesterday, Gandhi had targeted Left parties saying "the ideology they believe in is obsolete and belongs to the previous century."
He had also that Kerala cannot build its future from the vision of last century.
