The CPI will hold talks with all opposition parties in order to strengthen the campaign against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre, general secretary of the party S Sudhakar Reddy said on Monday.
The decision was taken at the national executive of the Communist Party of India (CPI) held here on Saturday, he said.
"The party has decided to intensify its agitation to expose the Rafale scam and the desperate attempts by the government through blatant misuse of official machineries for its cover-up operations," Reddy alleged.
He also claimed that the ruling political dispensation at Centre was forcing independent and even statutory authorities to bend rules to suit their anti-people, anti-constitutional, scam-driven activities.
Expressing concern over the ongoing turmoil in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Reddy said the tussle had damaged the credibility of the premier investigating agency.
"The mid night coup of Modi government to remove (the) director and special director of (the) CBI has exposed the true colour of the BJP led government," said Reddy alleging that the entire drill was carried out to save Rakesh Asthana, the number two in the CBI.

The CPI further alleged that the Rafale scam was getting murkier and will prove to be the death knell for the Modi government which has used state machinery against political opponents to harass and terrorise them.
He said the Income Tax (I-T) department and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) were selectively raiding political opponents of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre.
"I-T raids, ED raids on selected opposition parties starting from AAP in Delhi, Congress, Samajwadi Party... and now against Telugu Desam leaders and supporters in Andhra Pradesh," alleged Reddy.
The CPI general secretary alleged that the BJP and its mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), were working overtime for an image make-over by counting on money power and polarisation on communal-caste lines to win over the voters.
"This has resulted in the mismanagement of the economy, surrender to domestic and foreign businesses, writing-offs of huge bank loans, pampering of a few selected business houses close to the ruling party, bailing out of sick private companies at the cost of PSBs and PSUs," added Reddy.
Ridiculing Modi government's anti-corruption slogan-- 'Na Khaunga, na Khane dunga' (will neither take bribes, nor let anyone else do so), CPI secretary D Raja said the Rafale deal scam had shaken the tall claims of Modi government.
"The unprecedented fall of the value of Indian currency against the US dollar which is touching almost Rs 74 leaves no immediate breather for our economy which has already been pushed on to a ventilator by Modi-Jaitley-Nirmala and Co," added Raja.
To expose the Modi government's economic policies which are are dubious, pro-corporate and anti-public sector, the CPI extends its support to the two-day countrywide strike on January 8 and 9, 2019 called by the trade union bodies, he said.
