CPI urges LG to check 'attempts of communal polarisation' in
Press Trust of India New Delhi The Delhi unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) has written a letter to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung urging him to take all preventive measures to "save" Outer Delhi's Bawana area from "attempts of communal polarisation" in view of possible Delhi Assembly elections.
"CPI has demanded from the LG to act immediately without any partisan and do not allow anybody or private organisation to become the state to regulate any procession etc," a statement issued by the party said.
The CPI cadets in the area are very active and will not allow any communal violence to spread, it added.
Tension had surfaced in Bawana area yesterday after a 'Mahapanchayat' was organised over the route of religious procession of a community.
The 'Mahapanchayat' was organised in order to ensure that the procession takes an alternative route instead of passing through town market.
