Speaking at a programme of the Calicut Press Club here, Vijayan alleged that "poll surveys has no connection with the ground reality. Surveys are done as per the direction of the person who assigns such a thing," he said.
In the last state assembly elections, various surveys had predicted 82 to 96 seats for the UDF, he said, adding "at a time when the UDF was facing all sorts of problems in the present parliament polls, poll survey predicts 17 seats out of the total 20 seats in favour of UDF."
Answering a querry on veteran leader V S Achuthanandan's absence from campaigning in northern Kerala, he said the leader of opposition was a highly respected leader in the party and his electioneering programmes were charted considering his age factor.
