A day after the Indian pacer, Chandila and Chavan were remanded in five days police custody along with 11 others, their lawyers questioned the police action and accused the cops of following illegal procedure against them by arresting them without any evidence.
"He (Sreesanth) never talked to any bookie. He never received any money and he has no connection with any person involved in this case.
He said that he met Sreesanth and he is "perfectly okay and completely relaxed". The lawyer also said that there is no question of Sreesanth confessing since he has not committed any crime.
Advocate Rajiv Shankar Dwivedi, who appeared for Chandila and Chauhan, also took a similar stand, claiming that they were completely innocent.
