"Parmar was an active member of BJP's "jal samiti" set up on March 15, 2012 and his appointment was made with the approval of BJP state president Prabhat Jha and secretary Arvind Menon," MPCC Spokesman Narendra Saluja alleged today while releasing documents in support of his claim.
"It is ridiculous that the state BJP leaders were now disowning Parmar, who after being shot at on July 30, named BJP MLA Sudershan Gupta as one of the four accused in his FIR lodged with police," Saluja said.
Manoj was a known criminal facing 22 cases in different parts of the state including Bhopal and Indore, he said quoting a police report.
Following an FIR lodged by Parmar, the Malharganj police had registered a case against four persons including BJP MLA Sudershan Gupta and RSS functionary Gopal Goyal under section 307 (attempt to murder).
Local BJP MP Sumitra Mahajan had met the IG of Police demanding review of the FIR.
