Congress leader Sachin Pilot said that the tendency these days is to make serious allegations against political adversaries like dubbing them as "anti-nationals".
He was apparently referring to the debate on nationalism started by BJP in which it was showing its opponents in poor light. He said any criticism should be "restrained and within limits".
He was asked about depiction of Savarkar, the RSS ideologue, as a "traitor" on the Twitter handle of Congress two days ago.
"Bhagat Singh dared the British Raj to send the executioners. BJP-RSS ideologue Savarkar begged for his own release"
"Bhagat Singh waged war for Freedom from British Raj, V D Savarkar begged for mercy, to be a slave in British Raj," the party said in a series of tweets.
In the just concluded first part of the Budget session of Parliament, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi had targeted Savarkar suggesting that the ruling party runs on his ideals, while the Congress path was shown by Mahatma Gandhi.
