A 15 member committee drawn by Filmmakers Association of Croatia, including actors, directors, producers, editors and others nominated the film, said The Hollywood Reporter.
The plot moves around three different love stories set in three consecutive decades in two neighbouring villages.
The movie premiered this year in Un Certain Regard at Cannes, where it also won the jury prize.
The film starring Goran Markovic and Tihana Lazovic as war-crossed lovers focuses at the recent history of war-torn Yugoslavia in a sensitive manner.
