CRPF jawan shots himself to death

A CRPF jawan today shot himself to death in Bandgaon camp in naxal-affected West Singhbhum district, a senior police officer said.
The victim Nazrul Islam, a resident of Assam, shot himself with his service revolver to end his life, said Additional Superintendent of Police (Chakradharpur), Alok Priyadarshi.
Priyadarshi said Islam has been granted leave since May 18 but he did not avail it and continued to be on duty.
The exact cause behind the incident could not yet been ascertained but family problem was seemed to be the cause.
We are investigating the case in all possible angles, he said, adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem.
Islam was the jawan of 60 Battalion of the para-military force deployed in the naxal-infested pocket of the district.
