Neemuch is a historic town in Madhya Pradesh which served as the nerve centre of the 1857 mutiny and the garrison found a place in history after the Central Reserve Police Forces' (CRPF) first unit was raised here in 1939.
The CRPF is holding its foundation day celebrations at this military town after over two decades, putting an end to hosting the celebrations in national capital Delhi.
Marching contingents from field formations of the force spread across the country have been brought here for the event and they will put up an impressive show of valour and advance capabilities during the gala celebration, he said.
The last time the anniversary day parade was held here was in 1993 when the then Union Minister of State for Home Rajesh Pilot officiated as the chief guest.

The force's first battalion was raised here on July 27, 1939 as the Crown Representative's Police (CRP) under the British rule.
Post Independence, in 1949, it was re-christened as the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under the Indian Union by the first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The idea to take the celebrations of the annual anniversary day back to the force's cradle was mooted by CRPF Director General Prakash Mishra.
The force and district administration have thrown a strong security blanket in and around the town as the Home Minister and senior officers of the force will be staying tonight at the historic 'Ochterlony House' inside the CRPF Group Centre here.
