Crude oil futures fell by 0.32% to Rs 3,669 per barrel today as traders trimmed positions amid a weakening trend in Asian trade where it sank to a fresh five-year low.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in January next year traded Rs 14, or 0.32%, down at Rs 3,669 per barrel in 425 lots.
In a likewise manner, oil for December delivery moved down by Rs 13, or 0.30%, to Rs 3,625 per barrel in 1,798 lots.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for January delivery fell 25 cents to $57.56, while Brent crude for January was down one cent to $61.84 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange in mid-morning trade.
