Crude palm oil declined by 0.44 per cent to Rs 453.60 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand.

However, expectations of lower output from major producing belts capped losses.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in December month fell by Rs 2, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 453.60 per 10 kg in business turnover of 40 lots.

The November contract shed 60 paise, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 448.20 per 10 kg in 31 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators on the back of subdued demand in the spot markets against adequate stocks position mainly led to the decline in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
