Crude palm oil prices fell 0.49 per cent to Rs 540.80 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid fall in demand in spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in October eased by Rs 2.70, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 540.80 per 10 kg, in a business turnover of 430 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in September traded lower by 0.30 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 581.80 per 10 kg in 67 lots.
Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels, fall in demand in the spot market mainly influenced crude palm oil prices.
