Crude palm oil prices were up by 0.18 per cent to Rs 593.50 per 10 kg in futures trade Tuesday as speculators widened their positions amid pick-up in demand at the spot market.
Moreover, a positive trend in overseas markets supported the upmove.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for this month's contract rose by Rs 1.10, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 593.50 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 250 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in October went up by Re 1, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 593 per 10 kg in 238 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by participants amid pick-up in spot demand against tight stocks position on restricted supplies from overseas markets kept crude palm oil prices higher in futures trade.
