Crude palm oil futures edged higher 0.23% as demand picks up

Amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing regions, crude palm oil prices traded higher by 0.23 per cent to Rs 438.80 per 10 kg in futures market today as traders created fresh position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in February rose by Re 1, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 438.80 per 10 kg in business turnover of 174 lots.
Also, the oil for delivery in January contracts inched up by 40 paise, or 0.09 per cent to Rs 429.90 per 10 kg in 91 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built up by participants after pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly led to the rise in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
