Crude palm oil prices were up by 0.39% to Rs 513.50 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions amid pick-up in domestic demand and limited arrivals from producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in August moved up by Rs 2, or 0.39%, to Rs 513.50 per 10 kg in a business turnover of 170 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in September edged up by Rs 1.60, or 0.32%, to Rs 503.50 per 10 kg in 187 lots.
Analysts said pick-up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions mainly led to the rise in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
