Crude palm oil prices drifted lower by 0.36 per cent to Rs 658.80 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions, driven by a fall in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in May declined by Rs 2.40, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 658.80 per 10 kg in business turnover of 2 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in April contracts was trading lower by Rs 2.30, or 0.35 per cent, at Rs 653 per 10 kg in 41 lots.
Analysts said cutting down of positions by participants owing to slackened demand in the physical market against adequate stocks position led to the fall in crude palm oil futures.
