Crude palm oil prices were down by 0.14 per cent to Rs 558.20 per 10 kg in futures market today as participants reduced their exposure on the back of subdued demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in February was trading down by 80 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 558.20 per 10 kg in business turnover of 117 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in March contracts traded lower by 30 paise, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 549.20 per 10 kg in 208 lots.
Market analysts said trimming of positions by traders following sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position due to increased supplies mainly led to the fall in crude palm oil prices at futures trade.
