Child Rights and You (CRY) will launch an awareness campaign on child labour with support from Kolkata Police.
"We're happy to have the support of Kolkata Police. We know that employing child labour robs them of the joy of childhood," CRY Head of Programmes (East) Mohua Chatterjee said.
The initiative with Kolkata Police will continue for a month in the form of publicity campaigns.
"Our motto is keep children away from any exploitation and work towards their all round growth," CRY spokesperson Subhrajit Sinha said.
The awareness campaign was announced at a CRY programme on June 12 which was held in collaboration with Indian Museum.
More than 80 children from CRY intervention areas at Dhapa, Rajabazar in the city and Howrah participated in the workshop.
Indian Museum Director Jayanta Sengupta said, "We have partnered with several non-profit organizations which includes CRY.
"CRY advocates the cause of child rights and Indian Museum would love to partner with it for the cause of children," he said.
