The Supreme Court had on March 17 set aside the decision of former UPA regime to include Jats in central list of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to accord quota benefits to them. Following which, the Centre had moved the apex court on April one seeking review of its decision.
The result is likely to come out after the apex court hears the review plea, which may be heard soon, official sources said.
The examination is conducted in three stages -- preliminary, main and interview.
Officials in the Personnel Ministry say that the result of civil services (main) examination, 2014 has been slightly delayed and hope that the apex court lists the matter for hearing soon.

"In case of remote possibility of review petition not being heard by the court soon, the UPSC may declare the main result pending the effect of the verdict's outcome. But this will be the secondary option," a Personnel Ministry official said.
The result of civil service (main) examination 2013 was declared on March 11, last year. The final result was announced on June 12, 2014. As per the Commissions's tentative schedule, the notification of civil services examination, 2015 is likely to be issued on May 16.
The result of civil services examination, 2014, should be completed before the issuance of notification for this year's test, the official said.
