CS reviews status of Master Plans for J&K twin capitals

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Mohammad Iqbal Khandey today reviewed the status of Master Plans for the state's twin capitals of Srinagar and Jammu and other important towns and tourist resorts.
"The Chief Secretary reviewed the status of Master Plans for Srinagar, Jammu, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Patnitop and Katra Towns which are under revision process by the Development Authorities concerned," an official spokesman said.
Khandey, at a meeting of officials, instructed all the developmental authorities to complete the draft of the revised Master Plans within set deadlines and submit the same to the Administrative Department for cabinet approval.
The spokesman said the Chief Secretary was briefed about the status of Jammu Master Plan which has already been submitted to the Administrative Department.
After the Cabinet approves the Revised Master Plan, the same will be put in public domain to invite suggestions, he said.
The Chief Secretary also directed for expediting the process of finalisation of the Revised Master Plans for tourist destinations, including Gulmarg and Pahalgam, and to submit the same to the Administrative Department within two weeks.
He was informed that the Revised Master Plan for Katra town, which serves as the base camp for the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, has already been put in public domain.
