Odisha Chief Secretary A P Padhi will review the status report and the action taken based on the recommendations made by the task force on multiple allotment of houses and plots by government agencies to people under discretionary quota, officials said today.
The General Administration (GA) department in separate letters to the authorities of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) and Odisha State Housing Board (OSHB), has asked status report as early as possible.
Stating that the chief secretary would review the status of the action taken on the Task Force recommendations, GA department secretary A K Meena expressed displeasure over non-response by the development authorities on the issue.
The task force headed by the then additional chief secretary Taradatt had made recommendations to bring back the properties being allotted on discretionary quota.
A total 1,791 discretionary allotments were made by the different development authorities between 1995 and 2011. This included allotments made by BDA (803), CDA (921) and OSHB (67).
From among 1,791 cases, 54 persons were allotted multiple properties. "The development authorities have been able to bring back only four properties from 54 allotments in last four years," sources in the BDA said.
