A two-day conference of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research Directors concluded at the Indian Institute of Petroleum here with the passage of a resolution that technologies will be developed by CSIR Labs for national missions like Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat, Skill India, Smart Cities, Digital India and Namami Gange.
It was also decided that CSIR Labs will devise ways to develop industry-driven and game-changing technologies.
In his concluding remarks at the conference on Saturday evening Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Dr Harsh Vardhan said CSIR should be a catalytic agent in fulfilling the vision of a Samarth Bharat-Sashakt Bharat.
The coming months would see each CSIR laboratory focusing its resources on developing specific lines of inventions which would contribute to the social and economic objectives of the Narendra Modi government, he said.

A revenue model should be developed in a businesslike manner with clear input-output cost analysis, he said and suggested that emphasis should be laid on achieving global standards and building confidence in society about relevance of CSIR labs.
Union Minister of State for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Y S Chowdary urged CSIR directors to come up with at least 12 cutting edge technologies which are to be commercialised every year.
The "Make in India" and "Innovate in India" visions of the Prime Minister were the point of focus at the two-day meeting and saw all CSIR heads accept the challenge to provide the Science & Technology research findings as backbone to a great and new manufacturing economy.
