Performance by popular singer-composer Angaraag Papon Mahanta and renowned sarod players Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan are set to innagurate the event as the curtain raiser.
"The event is mainly to make non-residents Assamese aware of their culture and language...To make them connected to their roots," said Sarat Barkakati, General Secretary, Assam Association.
The Association in collaboration with the Global Non-residents Assamese organisations is organising the event also to celebrate 150th birth Anniversary of literary stalwart Lakshminath Bezbaroa.
"Lakshminath Bezbaroa is our role model. He toiled hard to develop and rejuvenate Assamese literature. He contributed towards the country's intellectual awakening," he said.

Talking about the star performers of the event, Barkakati said both Papon and Khan have strong connection with Assam.
"Papon belongs to Assam...While Amaan's and Ayaan's mother was from Assam," he said.
Speaking about his efforts of spreading awareness about Assam and its rich culture, Barkakati said there are many projects in the pipeline to promote and spread awareness about Assamese literature.
