The situation in Dalu area is under control but still tensed, so curfew has not been lifted, official sources said after district Deputy Commissioner Pravin Bakshi today toured the area to take stock of the situation.
Curfew was clamped in areas under Dalu Police Station in West Garo Hills district following a land dispute between two major Garo tribal clans which led to the death of a woman and damage to properties.
Attempts to create tension in the area persists and additional security forces were deployed to thwart off any mishap, police said.
The two Garo chiefs, Prakash Marak, Nokma of Khongtokpara and Nikme D Sangma, a woman Nokma of Magupara were arrested yesterday for inciting violence in Dalu area in which a woman was killed in the incident besides injuring few people and causing damage to properties, police said.
