Justice S N Hussain passed the order sentencing Dixit and imposed a penalty of Rs 2,000 on him.
Two petitioners - Dhirendra Kumar Singh and Jhantu Das had filed a contemption petition against Dixit alleging that he had failed to comply with the high court's earlier order directing the custom office at Kishanganj to release trucks seized by the central agency last year.
The custom authorities in Kishanganj district had seized the trucks in November 2010 and not released them despite a high court order.
