CVC to celebrate golden jubilee next month

Country's top anti-corruption body Central Vigilance Commission will celebrate its golden jubilee next month.
The celebrations will be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee on February 11 and will be presided by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Chief Justice of Supreme Court Justice P Sathasivam will preside over the valedictory function on February 12, a press release issued by Ministry of Personnel said.
The CVC was set up in 1964 on the recommendation of K Santhanam Committee.
A commemorative stamp, coffee table book and a documentary film on CVC will also be released on the occasion.
Senior cabinet ministers and dignitaries from different walks of life, contributing directly or indirectly to the good governance of the country, will take part in the panel discussions on "combating corruption: role of accountability institutions, investigating agencies, civic society and media".
There will be three plenary sessions and four breakout sessions spread out during the two day Seminar.
The sub-themes for these sessions are-- strengthening framework for improving the anti-corruption climate in India, role of investigating agencies: ensuring autonomy with accountability, combating corruption: technology as an enabler and corporate Ethics: moving beyond dilemmas among others.
The Chief Vigilance Officers, who are the extended hands of the CVC, of all central government departments and organisations will also be attending the function to celebrate 50 years of the probity watchdog.
