Cyber crimes a big challenge: Rajasthan DGP

Increasing cyber crimes and financial frauds in different sectors of the country, especially in corporate companies is proving a big challange for the investigative agencies, Rajasthan's top cop said today.
"Police and other investigation agencies should be vigilant about such crimes which hamper the growth of the nation," DGP Manoj Bhatt said during his opening remarks in a state-level workshop on 'Investigation of Financial Frauds', organised jointly by Rajasthan Police and Sardar Patel University of Police, Security, Criminal Justice.
"Such cases pose challenges before the police and investigation agencies and must be dealt accordingly," he said.
Detailing about various tools, methods and day-to-day changing modus operandi through Internet, ADG (SCRB) Kapil Garg appealed to its personnel and the masses not to share their personal data on social networking sites.
"There is a 69 per cent increase in such crimes and the percentage of arrest in such cases is 74 per cent," he said, adding youngsters aged 15 to 30 years are also involved in such crimes.
Addressing the delegates in a session on'Accounting Frauds in Corporates', joint director of CBI (Hyderabad) A Y V Krishna narrated how corporate CEOs were "inflating revenues for their vested interests and cheat investors and bankers".
Officials from police, custom and income tax department among other agencies are participating in the two-day workshop.
