The Cyberabad police officially announced here today that flying remote-controlled drones or microlight aircraft would not be allowed within commissionerate limits, without prior police permission.
Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand issued the order today in an official notification, citing inputs by intelligence agencies about the possibility of terror attacks using para-gliders, remote-controlled drones or microlight aircraft.
"There is possibility of breach of peace and grave danger to human life, health, safety as well as damage to public property on that account," the Cyberabad police chief said in the notification.
According to the notification, he said that there is a need to regulate such activities around commissionerate limits to prevent attacks using remote controlled drones or other such devices.
"No non-government agency, organisation or individual will be allowed to launch Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in the Indian civil airspace in Cyberabad commissionerate limits without prior written permission until further orders in the interest of public safety and security," the notification said.
The government agencies and organisations should obtain appropriate clearances from the local police and aviation authorities before launching any such objects for any purpose, it said.
The notification also stated that any person contravening the order would be punished under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
