Cyberabad Police rounds up 52 burglary, vehicle theft suspects

Cyberabad Police today picked up 52 suspects including old offenders and those wanted for theft of vehicles during a massive cordon and search operation conducted in Chilkanagar locality here.
The locality is completely occupied by different types of migrants from across the country for livelihood, as the area is surrounded by various Industries and there is a chance of sheltering criminals as well, police said.
"Whenever police went to apprehend the suspects/criminals they are escaping and avoiding their apprehension. Moreover, recently some bank burglaries were reported, wherein inter-state gangs role is suspected.
"Hence, a need for cordon and search operation was felt and the operation was conducted on the intervening night of Jan 28 and Jan 29," a release from Cyberabad Police said today.

A total of 29 teams involving 365 police personnel participated in the operation and about 3,000 houses were searched resulting in picking up of as many as 52 suspects and detention of 63 vehicles, it said, adding, the suspects will be questioned based on their antecedents.
