Cyclists who completed Race around Austria welcomed in Nashik
Press Trust of India Nashik The Nashik cyclists foundation today accorded a warm welcome Lt Col Bharat Pannu and Darshan Dubey, when they arrived in the city after successfully completing 'Race around Austria'.
It is a tough race in Europe and was held between August 9-13. They are first Indians to complete the race, a release issued by the cyclists foundation said.
Lt Col Pannu and Dubey of 'Team Inspire India' recently completed the 2,200 km long race in 100 hours though the time allotted for completing it is 117 hours, said the release.
They underwent eight months training to participate in the race, it said.
Lt Col Pannu is an aeronautic engineer at Artillery Space Centre here, while Dubey, who hails from Nashik presently works at Bengaluru, the release added.
