The Chandigarh centre was inaugurated by Ambassador of the Czech Republic in India, Milan Hovorka at a ceremony here.
"The launch of the Czech Republic visa application centre in Chandigarh reflects the country's commitment to provide for the growing demands of visas to the country among Indian tourists, business and culture," Hovorka said.
He said that the Czech Republic has emerged as one of the preferred European destinations for Indian tourists.
The two visa application centres are the 15thand 16th centre, inaugurated in collaboration with VFS Global, in the north India.

Commenting on the launch of the visa centres,Chief Operating Officer, Middle East and South Asia, VFS Global Vinay Malhotra said, "Outbound traffic from India is constantly growing, and the Czech Republic in particular is rapidly gaining popularity as a preferred tourist destination among Indian travel enthusiasts".
VFS Global also operates as the official representative of the Czech Tourist Authority - Czech Tourism, in India since November 2016.
VFS Global works in close collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Indian travel fraternity, to promote the Czech Republic as a preferred tourist destination through various promotional activities.
