Senior IAS officer Dinesh Kumar Jain today took charge as the new Chief Secretary of Maharashtra.
The 1983-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer succeeded Sumit Mullick, who retired today.
Jain was Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) before his appointment to the top bureaucratic post.
He superseded Medha Gadgil, Additional Chief Secretary (Relief and Rehabilitation), and Sudhir Shrivastava, Additional Chief Secretary (Home).
Jain, after taking charge, said he will chalk out a plan for development of agriculture in Maharashtra.
