Armed dacoits looted jewellery and cash worth over Rs 5 lakh from a jeweller's house in Bihar's Samastipur district Sunday morning, police said.
The dacoits entered the house of jeweller Shravan Kumar around 7 am and held hostage the family members at the gunpoint and indulged in looting for two and half hours before fleeing from the house, the police said.
Kumar told PTI that the dacoits looted valuables that included jewellery and cash over Rs 5 lakh at gunpoint.
Confirming the incident, Superintendent of Police Deepak Ranjan said search operations have been launched by sealing the borders of town area and checking of vehicles to nab the miscreants.
