In an unusual protest, scores of dacoits wielding arms in southern Pakistan's Sindh province took out a procession against alleged "extortions" by local police, media reported today.
The outlaws have a stronghold for years in Ghotki district of the province and have been looting public, Pakistan Today reported.
The robbers alleged that police was depriving them of their "hard-earned" money.
Police have denied the allegations saying the dacoits are actually protesting against the action taken against them by the police force.
While speaking to the media, SP Ghotki Ibrar Hussain claimed the crackdown against dacoits has led them to cease their activities and said that the protest reflected success of the police, the report said.
He, however, declined to comment on how the dacoits have got their hands on the latest weapons, which they carried during the protest and their patrons.
