The body of Purna Chandra Sabat was recovered today, a police officer said.
Police suspect that the miscreants might have slit the labourer's throat leading to his death. The reason behind the incident was yet to be ascertained, the officer said.
The body has been sent for post-mortem.
"We have deployed the dog squad and scientific teams in investigation. But, the police is yet to get any clue," said Inspector in charge, Purushottampur police station B K Sahu.
The victim had gone to the nearby market at Singipur village on Wednesday afternoon. He however, did not return home at night. The local people found his body lying in a pool of blood this morning.
