announced a hike in the minimum wages for daily labourers working in both government and private sectors, official sources said.
While the daily minimum wages for unskilled labourers have been fixed at Rs 150 from the earlier Rs 90, that for semi-skilled labourers have gone up from Rs 103 to Rs 170 per day, accoriding to a notification issued by the government.
Similarly minimum wages for skilled and highly skilled labourers have been fixed at Rs 190 and Rs 205 respectively. Earlier they were getting Rs 116 and Rs 129 respectively.
The new wages will be effective after publication of the notification in the Odisha Gazette, they said.
